What is a Sankey diagram?
A Sankey diagram shows how a quantity moves through connected stages. The width of each flow is proportional to its value, which makes drop-off, allocation, and conversion patterns easy to compare.

A Sankey diagram shows how a quantity moves from source to target, with wider bands for larger values. Paste feedback flows, funnel stages, user paths, or a budget below to create an interactive Sankey chart privately in your browser.

Source -> Target: value
or source, target, value. Header rows and # comments are okay.

6 nodes · 6 links · 100 items total source flow
Scroll sideways to explore the chart on smaller screens. Drag nodes vertically or use their arrow keys.
Percentages use 100 items as the explicit denominator. Intermediate gaps describe retained or external flow; percentages can exceed 100% when additional flow enters an intermediate node. A node’s size and percentage use the larger of its inflow and outflow.

Step 1
Paste Source -> Target: value rows or a three-column CSV. Use positive finite numbers and keep the graph moving forward.
Step 2
Review the explicit source-flow total, link percentages, and intermediate inflow/outflow gaps in the accessible summary.
Step 3
Set units, recolor links, toggle percentages, and drag nodes with a pointer, touch gesture, or arrow keys.
Step 4
Download SVG or PNG, or copy the safe self-contained embed HTML for a document or presentation.
Start with sources. The denominator is the outgoing flow from nodes with no inflow. Internal stages show where that quantity goes next.
Check gaps. An intermediate node can retain, lose, or receive external flow. The summary calls out the signed difference between inflow and outflow.
Keep names clear. Use short stage names in the visual and keep the full Unicode labels in the accessible table and exported SVG title labels.

Paste rows such as Source -> Target: 42, or use three CSV columns: source, target, value. Header rows and # comments are supported, and quoted CSV names can contain commas.
Percentages use the total outgoing flow from source nodes as the explicit denominator. Internal links are not added again, so a multi-stage journey does not inflate the total.
Yes. Download a self-contained SVG or a high-resolution PNG, or copy safe embed HTML containing the current SVG. Exports are disabled whenever the input is invalid.
